Market Research Intern

As a Market Research Intern, you will support the sales team by identifying potential clients, analysing market segments, and gathering insights that help drive commercial strategy. This role offers hands-on exposure to the logistics and supply chain industry and close collaboration with sales and commercial stakeholders.

  2. Manage relationship and evaluate performance of company approved suppliers
  3. Explore and Request prices from multiple selected sources for each request to find the best solution
  4. Provide quotations/fill out tenders in necessary quality image formats in a timely manner
  5. Advise sales team the selling price and advise the possible reductions if needed
  6. Price benchmarking + market analysis and reporting to benchmark and optimize our products
  7. Negotiate with suppliers for reductions to optimize margins
  8. Prepare quotations and solutions for partners of logistics networks we belong to

Location: Hybrid Rotterdam Brainpark

Duration: 3–6 months

Start Date: Q1 2026

Working Hours: Part-time 16-24 hours/week

Salary Range: € 136,- en € 227,- bruto/month

Your responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and target industries
  • Build and maintain prospect lists and market databases
  • Analyse market trends, competitors, and customer segments
  • Support sales and business development with insights and reports
  • Assist in preparing presentations and commercial documentation
  • Help structure and improve CRM data

You are

  • Currently enrolled in a WO or HBO Bachelor’s or Master’s program with a preference for Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Marketing, or something comparable
  • Analytical and have research skills with the ability to make connections
  • Articulate in English communication and writing
  • Comfortable in applications such as Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint with a preference for experience with CRM tools such as HubSpot

Our environment

You will join the sales team consisting of 1) the Head of Sales who is also the general manager of the Rotterdam office 2) a Sales Manager, and 3) a Sales Support colleague. The Rotterdam office consists of 21 colleagues with 8 nationalities: Dutch, Belgian, Polish, South African, Chinese, Croatian, Italian, and Iranian. Our modest office is located in Rotterdam Brainpark, which is right next to Erasmus University, Hogeschool Rotterdam, and Erasmus Sport. The local government and companies are developing Brainpark into an attractive place for work, study, and life.
